This stunning robin pendant is inspired by the jewellery of the Victorian era. Based on a locket from the collections of the British Museum called 'The Christmas Carol song', the original robin pendant was made in 1858 and was taken from an illustration on a Christmas card designed by Harrison Weir, a successful wildlife artist.
A common Victorian jewellery trend, Christmas card illustrations were often copied onto pendants and charms.
See alternative images below for the example of the original locket.
This brass chain measures approximately 62cm in length and pendant measures 3cm across.
